Mrs. Kelley-Truitt
Mrs. Kelley-Truitt is a native of Detroit, Michigan and a product of the Detroit Public School System. She started her career in education as a technology coordinator and computer instructor in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. After moving to Lake County in 2005, Mrs. Kelley-Truitt continued her career as an Innovative Learning Specialist at Carver Middle and Beverly Shores Elementary Schools and then to East Ridge Middle as an Achievement Liaison. In August of 2010, she started her journey in administration as an Assistant Principal at Leesburg High School and after three years was given the opportunity to work as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at Carver Middle School.
Her twenty one years of experience in education have given her the opportunity to work with some of the most effective administrators, teachers, and students in Lake County Public Schools in a variety of capacities. She has a strong sense of commitment to the Leesburg community and experience in working in challenging educational settings. She understands the level of communication, professionalism, grit, and grace that is required for long-term success and believes that her work ethic, and instructional leadership abilities will continue to be a valuable asset to Carver Middle School.
She has utmost confidence that with hard work and perseverance and the assistance from the Leesburg community, she can touch each child in a special way. She has high expectations and displays it in her love for “her kids” and encourages them to show a positive attitude in their learning, show commitment in their studies and strive for achievement at all times - BELIEVE, ACHIEVE, and SUCCEED!
